Faults we fix every week
- Shuts off or goes into protection mode (“PROTECT”, “CHECK SP WIRE”, blinking power light).
- No sound, or sound from one side only. Output transistors, relays and speaker terminal faults.
- HDMI faults. No picture passing through, no audio from the TV, ARC/eARC not working, HDMI board failures.
- Won’t power on. Power supply, standby transformer and fuse faults.
- Hum, crackle or distortion. Failing capacitors, dirty controls and dry joints.
- Display, volume knob or input selector faults.

Drop it at our Minchinbury workshop. For big TVs and heavy units, ask about in-home service.
Diagnose and quote
We find the fault on the bench and quote the repair. A minimum diagnostic fee applies and comes off your invoice if you go ahead.
Repair and collect
We repair it, test it under load and let you know it’s ready to collect.

My receiver keeps going into protection mode. Is it worth fixing?
Usually, yes. Protection mode is the amplifier protecting itself from a fault, often a failed output stage, a shorted speaker cable or a power supply problem. Disconnect the speakers and try again; if it still shuts off, it needs to come in.
Can you repair HDMI boards?
Yes. HDMI faults are among the most common failures on modern receivers. Depending on the model, we repair the board or fit a genuine replacement.
Do you do warranty repairs for Yamaha, Marantz, Denon and Onkyo?
Yes. We’re a listed service agent for these brands. Bring your proof of purchase.
Do I need to bring the speakers?
No, just the amplifier or receiver and its remote. If the fault only happens with certain speakers, tell us their model.
